Life 2020

I’m thinking about the things I want to accomplish in 2020. And guess what? I’m not going to set any big goals. I’ll be keeping things simple and easy. But that doesn’t mean I won’t get shit done. I will. I’m just not making major commitments.

Here’s the deal. Life is uncertain. When you think about it, goals are kind of vain. Setting year-long goals suggests we know we’ll be around the whole year. The truth is that any one of us could croak tomorrow.

Anderhill Will Be Moving

One thing that I’m certain of for 2020. I’ll be posting less about my Anderhill Music project here. Now that I’ve created a dedicated site for Anderhill, I’ll be posting the updates and new music over there. I might still post an occasional Anderhill post here, but not as often as I’ve done over the past year.

Although I’m not setting any major goals, there are a few things I’ll continue to do in 2020. And who knows, I might start something new. I’ve been known to change my mind midstream before. I could do it again.

Life in 2020

  1. Continue to blog at danerickson.net.
  2. Keep writing poetry for Cowboy Zen.
  3. Continue to create music as Anderhill.
  4. Start writing a new novel… maybe.
  5. Keep saving money and living simple.
  6. Continue to research van life and retirement.
  7. Travel with my daughter to places we love.

That’s the gist of it all. Don’t expect a bunch of end-of-the-year goal-setting crap from me. I used to do that. But I’ve discovered it’s mostly bullshit. I’m going to do what I’m going to do.

I might not set hard goals on paper, but I’ll excel at creativity. It’s what I do. You may or may not want to write your own goals down. Do whatever suits you. If nothing else, I encourage you to get creative in 2020.
